Britney Spears confuses everyone by quoting an Ariana Grande song in her new memoir

Publish date: 2024-04-10

In her new memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney Spears writes about her sister, Jamie Lynn, and compares her life to Ariana Grande’s hit 7 Rings.

Finally free from her 13-year conservatorship, Britney Spears has compared her and her sister, Jamie Lynn’s lives using the money-loving 2019 single from Ariana Grande.

Britney felt betrayed by her little sister

According to HELLO!, Britney writes that she “felt betrayed by the way Jamie Lynn had changed” and had some pretty strong words about her younger sibling.

The music star penned: “My little sister – well, when I tell you she was a total [expletive], I’m not exaggerating. I felt betrayed by how Jamie Lynn had changed. I’d bought a house for Jamie Lynn to grow up in. She was not exactly grateful for it.”

“That’s how we all were with Jamie Lynn: ‘You see it, you like it, you want it, you got it.’ As far as I could tell, her world was the Ariana Grande song ‘7 Rings’ come to life.”

The celebrity alleges that Jamie, who also had some success in the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101, would talk back to their mom, Lynn, and that she “spewed hateful words.”

Britney was broken up with over text

In her book, the Toxic singer, who also revealed why she shaved her head, lifted the lid on her three-year relationship with Justin Timberlake.

She wrote that she was broken up with on the set of her music video for Overprotected in 2002. JT texted her to tell her “It’s over!!!,” and the video’s director has now spoken out.

Taking to Instagram, Chris Applebaum told of how it went down: “At some point during the 2nd shift Brit disappeared and I went to her trailer to fetch her…only to discover her BF Justin had just broken up with her via text message. (Let me recommend to any who reads this: don’t break up via text!),” he wrote.

“We sat on the floor of her trailer for a minute, talked it out, and then rallied. I told her she should get out there & show Justin he made the biggest mistake of his life. That was just one of the stories from this shoot…”

A Las Vegas wedding

Elsewhere in her book, Britney says that she doesn’t remember marrying her childhood friend, Jason Alexander, while on a drunken night out. She set the record straight saying that was only “innocent fun.”

“People have asked me if I loved him. To be clear: he and I were not in love, I was just honestly very drunk and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.”

She continued: “They made way too big of a deal out of innocent fun. Everybody has a different perspective on it, but I didn’t take it that seriously. I thought a goof-around Vegas wedding was something people might do as a joke.”
